Columbia Mayor Brian Treece has announced that if current COVID trends continue as they are now, the health order in Columbia will expire on May 12th. Following that announcement, the University of Missouri announced that the University of Missouri no longer requires face coverings outside on campus, effective immediately. University officials still encourage people to use a face covering if they are within 6 feet of someone you do not live with, particularly if you are not vaccinated and with that individual for 15 minutes or longer. It is also still recommended that individuals avoid large outside crowds where social distancing is not possible.

The University will continue to adapt its guidance following local, state, and national health guidance.
