Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol worked 312 traffic crashes over the July 4th holiday counting period, including 7 fatalities. Among those who died was a 15 year old from Norwood who died following a wreck on Owens Road in Wright County on Friday. 35-year-old Jeffery A. Smith of Stover died on Saturday during a motorcycle crash on Highway 52 in Morgan County. 39-year-old Dorcey R. Folsom of Buffalo died on Sunday after being struck by a vehicle, on Highway 32 in Dallas County. Also during the holiday counting period, troopers also made 144 DWI arrests and 81 drug arrests. Troopers worked 12 boating crashes, which included four injuries and one fatality. Troopers made eight BWI arrests and 43 drug arrests. There were no drownings over the holiday weekend.
