(Rolla)–Don’t expect to see bright, eager-to-learn faces in the classrooms this fall at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla. While students will be in the classrooms again, they will be required to wear face coverings while in classrooms, labs, and common areas, or when social distancing is not possible. This precaution is being taken to slow the spread of coronavirus.
Missouri S-and-T will ask students to bring three to five reusable cloth face coverings with them to campus. Instructors will wear face shields provided by the university in classrooms to allow hearing-impaired students to see their faces as they speak. Visitors to campus will be required to wear face coverings during their visit.
The requirement will take effect on July 1st, and will continue when the fall semester starts on August 24th.
