Missouri S&T celebrates St. Pat’s this week
(Rolla)–Missouri University of Science and Technology is celebrating its 112th annual “Best Ever” St. Patrick’s celebration this week in Rolla. The theme for this year’s celebration is “St. Pat’s in the Roaring ’20s.” The celebration will conclude on Saturday with a parade on Pine Street in the morning. Pine Street will be painted green for the parade. There will be a concert by the Schwag, a Grateful Dead tribute band. There will also be a separate concert, featuring American rock singer and record producer Andrew W. K. and rock band Mayday Parade.
The campus celebration began in 1908 when a group of Rolla students declared St. Patrick to be the patron saint of Engineers. St. Pat’s has since grown to encompass a full week of events, as well as campus traditions that begin this week.
