Missouri Senate Gives Preliminary Approval To Election Bill
After more than nine hours of debate, the Missouri Senate has given preliminary approval to a controversial election bill. The Republican-led legislation includes voter ID requirements; banning drop boxes; doing away with a presidential primary in Missouri, and allowing the Secretary of State to audit voter rolls. State Senator Sandy Crawford, a Republican from Buffalo, is carrying the House bill.
State Senator Lauren Arthur, a Democrat from Kansas City, says she wants lawmakers to pass a bill that enhances elections – not on that undermines the process.
