Missouri Senate Considers Pay Increase For Jury Duty

The state Senate is considering a bill that would change how jurors are paid in Missouri. Under current law, a juror is to be paid seven cents per mile to and from their residence and the courthouse. His bill also proposes that a circuit court may adopt a system that pays jurors nothing for the first two days of service, but fifty dollars with the state employee mileage rate for the third and any subsequent days of service. A Senate committee has not yet voted on the bill.
