Missouri Reps Question To China Relationship

The U-S House Financial Services Committee – and three of its members from Missouri- addressed the U-S contentious relationship with China. In the hearing called “Combatting the Economic Threat from China”- they questioned global trade and national security specialists about how China’s government actions affect our economy.
Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer chairs an important national security subcommittee and says In 2020, the U.S. trade deficit with China was $310 billion dollars.
Anne Wagner of the 2nd District – near Lt. Louis also chairs a key financial subcommittee…and is on the powerful Foreign Affairs Committee. She responded to the Chinese balloon that crossed the U-S that she watched pass over her district.
Kansas City Democrat Emanuel Cleaver is also on the Financial Services Committee — and called the hearing “extremely important”
Cleaver says the U-S continues to import more goods from China than we do with any other nation –keeping prices low and corporate profits high. He called it a QUOTE “schizophrenic relationship.”
