The Missouri Library Association is strongly opposed to a proposed rule change from Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft. It would require libraries that receive state funds to adopt written policies regarding what material is age appropriate. It would also give parents the right to challenge a library’s age-appropriate designation for any material. The M-L-A’s Joe Kolburn calls the proposal “a solution looking for a problem:”
