Missouri Highway Patrol reports zero fatal traffic crashes

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports zero traffic fatalities during the 78 hour New Year holiday counting period. Troopers investigated 406 traffic crashes with 91 injuries and a total of 94 DWI arrests. Last year, during the 78-hour New Year’s counting period, there were 12-hundred-47 traffic crashes statewide, with 6 deaths and 309 injuries.
The 78-hour counting period, which began at 6 p.m. Thursday, December 30th, and ended at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, January 2nd, 2022. There were no boating crashes or drownings over the 2022 New Year’s holiday counting period.
