Miller County Man Faces Domestic Assault Charges

A man in Miller County is in jail following a 10-hour stand-off Sunday morning in Ulman. Authorities say deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance where a woman said that 53-year old Thomas Patterson of Brumley had assaulted her with a firearm.

After deputies went to the residence and talked to Patterson, he refused to leave and barricaded himself inside.

Deputies got an arrest warrant for Patterson and a search warrant for the home.
The Highway Patrol’s SWAT team went into the home and took Patterson into custody about 5 pm.

Miller County Prosecutor Ben Winfrey charged Patterson with domestic assault 1st degree, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Patterson was taken to the Miller County Jail in Tuscumbia with a $125,000 bond.
