Miller County Fugitive Apprehended
On Wednesday (April 5th), Miller County Sheriff’s Deputies located a wanted fugitive, 36-year-old Eldon resident, Brandon Michael Phelps, in the ATM drive-through at Central Bank in Eldon. While attempting to take Phelps into custody, Phelps fled on foot, running through a parking lot and into traffic on Business Highway 54. Deputies continued to pursue Phelps on foot until he entered a heavily wooded area off Linda Lane. Deputies and Eldon Police Officers established a perimeter, and the Miller County K-9 team responded to track Phelps. Phelps was located a short time later by the K-9 team hiding in a tree near South Round House Road. Phelps was removed from the tree, and taken into custody without further incident. At the time of his arrest, Phelps had two active felony arrest warrants for Failure to Obey A Judge’s Order on two counts of Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Failure to Appear on Resisting for a Felony, and a misdemeanor charge of Violation of a Protection Order. Phelps is being held at the Miller County Adult Detention Center with no bond. Additional charges will follow.
