Medication and heat related illness
There is a significant heat risk for the Missouri Ozarks according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are again expected to climb into the 90’s with a heat index of more than 100. Anti-depressants and anti-psychotics have also been found to increase the risk of heat-related illness. Everyone is at risk when temperatures rise above 90 degrees, and the elderly and the very young are most susceptible to heat and heat-related illnesses. Heat-related illnesses can cause serious injury and even death if unattended. Key preventative measures including drinking plenty of water, and stay indoors whenever possible.
