Massive overhaul at the Cowan Civic Center

Since its construction, the Cowan Civic Center has seen approximately a million visitors each year, with an average of 18 major events annually. After more than 20 years of continuous use, the current City Council decided it was time to make some improvements. There were also improvements made in the parking lot, at the Veterans Memorial, with improvements still to come at the Mills Center. The renovations and improvements at the Cowan Civic Center came with a price tag of about $2-million-dollars. Mayor Carr and City Administrator Mike Schumacher thanked the taxpayers for allowing the project to take place.
