A mask ordinance will go into effect in Rolla the day after Thanksgiving. This comes as the result of a Covid-19 ordinance passed Monday night by the Rolla City Council. The ordinance mandates the wearing of a mask or facial covering by persons aged 11 or older in areas of public accommodation and limits the size of some enhanced risk gatherings. Gatherings of enhanced risk activities such as weddings, funerals, religious services, camps and others are also limited to 25% of a facility’s capacity. There are several mask exemptions included in the ordinance for health conditions, using exercise equipment, eating at a restaurant, and others. Restaurants and general retailers are also exempt from occupancy limits providing social distancing is observed.
The ordinance will be in effect until February 2nd of next year.
