FATIMA OUTSCORED THE TIGERS 21-16 IN THE 4TH, BUT AGAIN, CLUTCH FREE THROWS FROM ERIC MORRISS, MIKE LEWIS, AND XAY MACARTHUR DOWN THE STRETCH KEPT THE COMETS AT ARMS LENGTH AND THE TIGERS PULLED OFF THE UPSET…..THE TIGERS WERE LED BY JAYDEN SMITH WITH 21, ERIC MORRIS HAD 13, AND XAY McARTHUR DROPPED IN A DOZEN…
TIGER Coach CHRIS Pilz SAID
“We wanted to get the ball inside to Smith and Morriss tonight. We were able to execute that.. If we are going to be successful we will need them to continue to score inside and draw fouls on our opponents.”
WAYNESVILLE WENT 14/21 FROM THE FREE THROW LINE AND FATIMA WENT 7/16.

COACH PILZ CONTINUED….
“Four things we need to continue to improve: 1.) valuing the ball (to many careless turnovers tonight) 2.) Keeping our opponents out of the paint 3.) Know the prep (execute our practice prep/shooters left open for easy baskets 4.) Make open perimeter shots and lay-ups. We tighten these four things up, we will be a hard out.”
”We were in another competitive game. We made enough right plays to pull out a win. Our staff and I are excited to get back practice continue to improve.”

TONIGHT, WINNERS BRACKET SEMI FINALS…..THE TIGERS GET OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY ONE OF THE BEST TEAM’S IN THE STATE, BLAIR OAKS. THE TIGER COACH SAID “Our guys like challenges and we will get one tomorrow.”
