With a stunning, fiery, final-lap crash involving Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch, Michael McDowell navigated through the pileup to win the 2021 Daytona 500. It’s McDowell’s first career NASCAR Cup Series win in his 14th season.
McDowell was in first place when the caution flag came out following the crash on Lap 200, just edging out Chase Elliott and winning the first Daytona 500 for Front Row Motorsports. The only time that McDowell led the race at all was after the crash.
McDowell’s win was the conclusion to an extremely long day — and night — at Daytona International Speedway. The race finished about 20 minutes after midnight in the eastern time zone — about nine hours after the green flag flew for the first time after a more-than-five-and-a-half-hour weather delay brought things to a halt.

The 18th hole at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am was twice a fork in the road for Daniel Berger this week. On Saturday afternoon, he made double bogey after hitting his ball out of bounds. On Sunday, he eagled it for a walk-off two-stroke win over Maverick McNealy. A four-stroke swing that changed the entire tournament.
Berger’s double on Saturday in Round 3 meant that Berger was no longer in the final group for the finale. This was maybe a good thing for him considering Jordan Spieth was in the final group, and that dynamic has not always ended well for Berger. He lost to Spieth in a playoff at the 2017 Travelers Championship and somehow found himself two down after Spieth played pretty mediocre golf on Saturday at Pebble.
Berger played ahead of his former Presidents Cup mate on Sunday and put two 3s on the card in the first three holes. He went out in 33, and it became clear that he was among the two or three golfers who truly had a grip on the golf tournament.

SAVE FOR TUESDAY…
ST. LOUIS, Mo., February 12, 2021 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced their revised 2021 Spring Training schedule today in conjunction with Major League Baseball’s league-wide release. The team’s 24-game Grapefruit League slate is set to begin on Sunday, February 28 at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium when the Cardinals host the Washington Nationals.
The Cardinals revised 2021 Spring Training schedule features 12 home dates and 12 road games, including three games as the visiting team against stadium co-tenants Miami Marlins (March 2, 13, & 22), giving them 15 total games at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. Eight of the club’s 24 spring games will be played under the lights, with 6:05 PM local start times.
As a result of Major League Baseball’s recently announced health and safety protocols, the Cardinals will only face the four other MLB clubs based along Florida’s east coast for the 2021 spring season. The club will play each of the Marlins, Nationals, New York Mets and Houston Astros six times, with an even split both home and away dates. The Cardinals will have five off days once games begin on March 6, 11, 16, 21, & 26.
The Cardinals will break camp on Monday, March 29, following their game against the Mets at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium and will open their regular season schedule on Thursday, April 1, in Cincinnati at 3:10 PM CT. The 2021 spring schedule will mark the 24th year that the Cardinals will train at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter, Florida.
The Cardinals will make future announcements regarding 2021 Spring Training television and radio broadcast schedules in the coming days. The complete 2021 Cardinals Spring Training schedule can be viewed at cardinals.com and follows.
