Marine Veteran Dedicates Picking up Anchor to Son
Another piece of history will be added to the Lebanon Veteran Park soon. An anchor from the USS Randolph Aircraft carrier will be arriving in Lebanon around 2 p.m. this afternoon (Friday). The anchor was used by the Navy during World War II and will soon be sitting in the Lebanon Veteran Park at the Cowan Civic Center for everyone to look at. Communications Manager with the City of Lebanon Derek Gean says a Marine Veteran picked up the anchor in dedication to his son.
The anchor will be removed by a crane and refurbished by Owen Sandblasting onsite at 2 p.m.
