The Maries County Sheriffs Office will receive a nearly $40,000 grant in early November. The Missouri Department of Transportation grant will provide new laptops for deputies’ cars, computer software, and docking stations. The grant will also cover 300 hours of overtime patrol hours used to enforce highway safety, including DWI patrols and hazardous motor vehicle driving. The grant also allows taxpayer money to be used on preventative patrols and investigating victim crimes.
