The Maries County Sheriff’s Department has released information about a drug arrest on their Facebook page. Early morning on Friday, Deputy Jeff Younger observed a Dodge pickup cross the centerline of the road on Highway 28 and conducted a traffic stop. During the course of the traffic stop, Deputy Younger conducted a brief investigation roadside and was able to gain a confession from the driver that he possessed illegal drugs in the truck. Deputy Younger conducted a search of the truck he located a bag containing marijuana, which the driver did not possess a medical card for, two glass pipes with white residue, and 3 baggies with a white crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine. When asked, the driver admitted the bags contained methamphetamine, and a field test confirmed they were. Arrested was Christopher Citizen, age 39, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was transported to the Maries County Jail and held on a 24-hour hold. On Friday, the Maries County Prosecutor, Tony Skouby, charged Christopher Citizen with one count each of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Controlled Substance. He is currently being held in the Maries County Jail per the order of Judge Kerry Rowden.
