(St. Robert)–Back in March, when people were becoming concerned about the coronavirus outbreak and before the statewide stay-at-order, many consumers stocked up on what they believed were essential items. That resulted in an unexpected upsurge of consumer spending in parts of Pulaski County. St. Robert Mayor, Dr. George Lauritson, says he and city council members were pleasantly surprised by the amount of local sales tax money collected in March.

The local sales tax money collected in April could be way down due to the statewide stay-at-home order imposed on April 6th.
