Many Schools To Get Mobile Panic Buttons

Many of Missouri’s public schools will soon be getting mobile panic buttons. The state is offering a mobile emergency alerting app to allow them to quickly alert school staff and emergency responders in SOS situations. Mike O’Connell, Missouri Department of Public Safety spokesman, says the app could be used on a cell phone or computer in cases like a fire, natural disaster, an intruder, or active shooter.

The app provides information, such as location-based information and school campus maps, to first responders, law enforcement, and campus personnel – within seconds. O’Connell recommends that schools sign up by June 30.
