A man from Cedar County has been sentenced for trading food stamps for methamphetamine. On July 18 of last year, 54 year old Bobby Johnson Junior of El Dorado Springs pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, one count of possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, and one count of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime.
During an investigation in 2018, Deputies seized four SNAP EBT cards, from Melanie Person of Milo, and one those cards were issued to Johnson. During the investigation it was revealed that the suspects exchanged their EBT cards and Pin numbers for methamphetamine. On Tuesday, Bobby Johnson Junior was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison without parole. Melanie Person will be sentenced on April 30th.
