Man Pleads Guilty to Dumping Sewage

The former public works director in Sunrise Beach pleaded guilty yesterday to illegally dumping sewage while the village employed him. Brian Scheiter made the plea for violating the Clean Water Act. From October of 2019 to January of 2020, Scheiter oversaw the dumping of thousands of gallons of sewage down a hillside just a couple of hundred yards from Captain Ron’s Bar and grill. Scheiter could face a fine of up to $25,000 and up to a year in prison.
