Man drowns while helping another

A Jefferson City man drowned in the Meramec River, in Crawford County, on Sunday afternoon. According to the Highway Patrol Marine Division, 24-year old Alexander Terrell jumped into the water to help another person who was struggling and went under. Terrell’s body was recovered and he was pronounced dead just after 5 pm.
