A prosecutor in the Springfield area has charged a Republic man with three counts of second-degree murder, three counts of driving while intoxicated that resulted in death, and six other D-W-I-related charges.
The charges against Steven Jordan stem from a wrong way accident on the James River Freeway January 20th that killed three of eight passengers from Texas driving to St. Robert to attend a funeral. The other five passengers suffered serious injuries in the collision.
Police report that Jordan had been driving the wrong way on the James River Freeway when the deadly crash occurred.
The crash took the lives of Sharon Farmer, Ukena Farmer, and Stephen Figgins.
They were headed to the Fort Leonard Wood area to attend the funeral of 70-year-old Minerva Williamson of St. Robert, who was killed January 18th in St. Robert when a 2019 Chevrolet Blazer ran a red light and struck the vehicle in which Williamson was a passenger.
