Man caught attempting to steal tires from Lebanon business
A man from Nixa has been charged in connection with the attempted theft of tires from a Lebanon business. Officers responded to the 800 block of Springfield Road for a theft, with one person in custody. 31-year-old Christopher Zahara was found standing next to a car that had tires in the back seat, in the trunk, and several on the ground next to the car. One of the business owners told the officers that she was able to tell the tires had been taken from storage due to the white markings on the tires, but Zahara claimed they were already on the ground. He also said that takes used tires from Springfield shops all the time with permission from the owners, so he didn’t realize he was doing anything wrong. The owner of the business said the value of the tires was around $22-hundred-dollars. Zahara is charged with stealing and was issued a summons to appear in Laclede County Court on February 8th.
