Man Accused Of Motorcyclist Death Taken Into Custody

Laclede County Sheriff David Millsap has announced that a man wanted for various crimes and on the run for over a week has been captured. Alex Reed was taken into custody shortly before noon Monday morning.

Reed of Ridgedale, Missouri, was wanted for failing to appear in court on a hit and run charge from 2016. Authorities say Reed got in front of a motorcycle ridden by 33-year old Cole Jones of Dixon after Jones became angry at Reed and kicked off Reed’s driver’s side mirror. Reed then slammed on his brakes, causing the fatal crash. On December 30th of 2016, the confrontation took place on Highway 5, 8 miles north of Lebanon. Reed is also accused of leading law enforcement on a pursuit through Laclede and Webster Counties in mid-January.

Reports say Reed was located in the Highway A.A. area of Laclede County.
