Man accused of attacking family member

A Lebanon man is facing charges after police responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of Polk Avenue on October 22nd. According to paperwork filed by the responding officer, when they arrived at the scene they found a 34-year-old man laying on the ground as if he was unconscious. When speaking to witnesses, they told the officer they heard children screaming and crying, and came out of their house and saw 34-year-old Adam Michael Albertson on top of the victim, hitting her and smashing her head into the ground. Bystanders assisted the victim, allowing her and the children to get away. When the officer attempted to take Albertson into custody he allegedly began cursing, yelling and resisting arrest. The officer called for assistance and was finally able to restrain Albertson, who was injured in the process. He was taken to Mercy Lebanon for treatment and then transported to the Laclede County Jail. Albertson is charged with domestic assault and resisting arrest and is currently in custody without bond. His next hearing date is set for October 31st.
