Local business temporarily closed due to COVID 19

As the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases continues to increase in Laclede County, some businesses are continuing to feel the economic impact. There are many who were impacted early, by the statewide shutdown, and now some are having to temporarily close because of illness in their workforce. According to a recent post on Facebook, Cornerstone Subs and Pizza announced they have closed until Monday due to a positive case of COVID 19; and there have been others. In June, the Laclede County Commission received $4-point -1 Million-Dollars to help businesses, nonprofits, and Governmental agencies recover losses from COVID 19. At that time, the Commission voted to set aside 25 percent of the money to aid in economic recovery. In a prior interview, Presiding Randy Angst told Regional Radio News, this is money which could help Laclede County businesses…..
While the deadline for phase 3 has passed, Angst encourages businesses that have been negatively impacted by the pandemic to fill out an application which will be considered when they get this latest round of applications. For the application and specific guidelines contact the Laclede County Commissioner’s or Laclede County Clerk Linda Cansler. In the meantime, all residents are encouraged to continue to support local businesses, while practicing CDC guidelines of safe distancing, wearing a mask, and proper handwashing.
