Little Appetite In Legisature To Oppose Four Day School Week

Missouri has 168 school districts holding classes four days a week this school year. After the Independence School District moved to a four-day school week, lawmakers tried unsuccessfully to restrict the shortened academic weeks this year. The four-day model is a teacher recruitment tool, and larger districts are now catching on – potentially leading to teacher recruitment problems for rural districts.
