Lightning strike damages KFBD-FM, KOZQ-FM, KJPW-AM and KIIK-AM Equipment

A lightning strike Saturday morning at the Alpha Media studios in St. Robert, has caused a great deal of damage to the broadcasting equipment there. According to General Manager, Mike Edwards, the engineering staff worked through the weekend but not all repairs have been completed at this time. According to Edwards, KFBD-FM took the hardest hit and has the most repairs yet to be made. “Listeners will notice some differences in the way we normally conduct our broadcast day due to equipment being pulled out of service and repaired”, according to Edwards. “Several equipment parts have been ordered and it may be the end of the week before all repairs are fully made”.  At this point, it has yet to be determined if the lightning struck the tower or came in from power or phone lines.
