Letter writing campaign targeted to Senior Citizens is underway

An effort to reach out to Laclede County senior citizens who are sheltered from exposure to COVID-19, has begun. The From a Distance effort is a joint project coordinated by the City of Lebanon, the Lebanon R-3 School District, and the Hughes Senior Center. Jessica Fox with the City of Lebanon said this a great project for kids….

Kids are encouraged to write letters, make cards or draw pictures, that can be delivered to the senior citizens of the community. If you want to mail your child’s creation, just write senior citizen on the envelope and put a stamp on it, and it will be delivered to the post office where a city staff member will pick it up. You can also leave letters at the drive thru at Lebanon City Hall.
