Lebanon Woman arrested for Poisoning Husband
A Lebanon woman is accused of adding the herbicide RoundUp to bottles of Mountain Dew that belonged to her husband. The Laclede County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the husband of Michelle Peters, who said he believed she was poisoning him. The victim told investigators that in early May he first noticed that his Mountain Dew had a odd taste and that he got sick shortly after drinking it. When contacting authorities, the man showed video from a security camera, which allegedly Peters taking 2 liter bottles of the drink out of the refrigerator and handling the Roundup. The investigator recovered multiple 2 liter bottles of the soda evidence. 47 year old Michelle Peters of Lebanon is charged with felony assault in the first degree and armed criminal action. A Morgan County Judge will preside over the case.
