Lebanon Veterans Ceremony

One of Lebanon’s proudest traditions added another chapter Friday. The Lebanon Veteran’s Day Ceremony began at 11am in the Cowan Civic Center with an introduction from event organizer Donna Mason. After Mason’s greeting, the Pledge of Allegiance, and a short video, Mayor Jared Carr took the stage.

Mayor Carr also introduced the Keynote speaker of the event, Missouri Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe. Kehoe spoke about his admiration for Veterans, then talked about a personal “Father Figure” from his past; a Veteran named Mr. Becker. Missouri’s Lieutenant Governor closed with this…

The ceremony continued with several speakers dedicating the new World War Two, Sherman Tank and A-H One Cobra Helicopter to the Veterans Memorial Park, and concluded with the Lebanon High School Choir singing “God Bless America”, a playing of Taps, and a dismissal by the woman who tied everything together, Donna Mason.
