The Lebanon R3 School Board met last night to nominate a new board member to fill the vacancy left by Jason Riggs. Five men applied for the position and according to all the sitting board members, interviewed very well, offering different perspectives and ways to grow the district. By the end of the process, the Board nominated Matthew Amsberg. After the decision, Amsberg described his emotions.
Amsberg also said he believed his past experience with finance management separated him from the other candidates.
The Board encouraged all of the candidates to run again in next year’s school board election. The Board voted in Amsberg five to one, on account of one member personally knowing three of the candidates.
