Lebanon R3 and Police partner for Cop on a Bus Project

The Lebanon Police Department and the Lebanon R-3 School District is partnering to enhance student safety on school buses. The Cop on a Bus project will place a police officer on different school buses to monitor and enforce stop arm violations. Director of School Safety Jason Riggs says this will be in addition to the School Resource Officers that are in school buildings…

There won’t be a police officer on every school bus, every day but rather at random times to allow the officer to deter unsafe behavior, and to protect students as they are traveling to and from school.
The Cop on a Bus project will be starting as early as September 25th.
