Lebanon Park Master Plan

A joint meeting of the Lebanon Park Board and Lebanon City Council gave both an opportunity to hear suggestions from Park Planner Chris Cahalan with Olsson and Associates, who has been working with the Park Board and Parks Director John Shelton on the Park Master Plan. The step in the process was a community survey that allowed residents of Lebanon to share what their priorities are for city parks.

The ideas presented includes building a separate entrance for the ball fields at Atchley Park for added safety, adding a splash pad, and a sledding hill. At Nelson Park additional parking was recommended, along with utilizing woodland. Boswell Park suggestions included adding a splash pad. It appears the work will begin at Wallace Park adding a Yellowjacket theme, pickle ball and basketball courts, and a fire pit. Cahalan’s presentation also included the potential of additional park space and presented an option of both 5 and 8 acres, however the general design, general size location are unknown at this time. The concept boards for the Lebanon City Park Master Plan will be on display at various locations including the Cowan Civic Center, and City Hall, and eventually on the City of Lebanon website.
