Lebanon man held without bond

A Lebanon man is facing felony charges following an investigation by the Lebanon Police Department. The investigation began when officers were attempting to locate 32 year old Benjamin Cory Burns who had outstanding warrants for his arrest. An officer was able to locate Burns who was sleeping in a parked vehicle near a trailer park, on Saturday morning. According to the officer statement, he grabbed Burns by the arm and pulled him out of the vehicle and put him on the ground. When the officer searched him he allegedly located a small baggie that contained a substance that later tested positive for the presence of both methamphetamine and opioids. Benjamin Cory Burns was also found in possession of a loaded gun, which came back as stolen. In addition to the prior charges, he is also charged with possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a firearm. He is being held in the Laclede County Jail without bond.
