Lebanon hires its first ever Main Street director
The Lebanon Downtown Business District Board has hired the first-ever Main Street Downtown Business District executive director for downtown Lebanon. Lebanon native Ashton Light accepted the position early last week. Light has degrees in agribusiness finance management and animal science from Missouri State University and she is currently completing an accelerated master’s degree in agriculture economics. Lebanon Downtown Business District Board president, Steve Hite, announces the position.
The board developed a job description, and after a nationwide search, they decided that Lebanon Native, Ashton Light, was the right person for the job. The Lebanon Downtown District Board began the process of searching for a Main Street director in late 2019. Board President, Steve Hite, was quoted saying, “To effectively revitalize our historic downtown, there was a real need for time, effort, and resources that could not be accomplished in the limited time our board meets each month.” When asked who or how this position salary was being paid, Hite has this to say…
“Ashton has deep roots in our community and has always had an interest in our downtown,” Hite said. Light is looking forward to serving the downtown business district, and will start her new role as the Lebanon Main Street director immediately. She said she believes she can bring energy and new ideas while still helping to preserve the historical value of downtown.
