Lebanon City Council Meets

Several items were topics of public hearings on the Lebanon City Council agenda and up for approval. A rezoning request for property at Goldenwood and Highway 5 brought out several residents from the neighborhood who expressed opposition to rezoning the property from RS1 Residential to C-1 Commercial in order to construct a Dollar General Store. The request to rezone the property was denied by Lebanon City Council. City Council approved a request to replat 708 West Commercial where the plan is to build storage units. A request for a replat at property on Cobb Drive, , 1904 Donna Circle and 933 were all approved as well. The first reading of a bill to provide compensation for members of the Zoning and Planning Commission was approved, the ordinance didn’t include what the amount of compensation would be. Council approved L&B Services to conduct Road Boring services for the city and approved MFA Oil to provide propane for City Facilities at a cost of $1.60 per gallon with various costs for cylinder refills.

Council approved a grant award from the State Division of Tourism for Tourism in the Amount of $50-thousand-dollars. The City will pay 50 percent of the cost for marketing approved through the grant. Council also approved funding for local advertising through the Laclede County Record and Alphamedia. Street Supervisor Mike Moore was given approval for overlay projects on 12 streets at a cost of $693,098.
