Lebanon City Council hears about the new Public Safety Center and winter weather prep at their Monday meeting
The $2.7-million dollar Public Safety Center contract was approved during Monday night’s meeting of Lebanon City Council. Lebanon Fire Chief Sam Schneider said members of his staff played a large role in planning the new facility, which will be located off Ivey and Beck.….
Bales Construction of Waynesville was awarded the contract for the Public Safety Center, which will include 3 bays that will exit on to the Beck Lane extension. In order to save some cost on the project, the CIty decided to move some of the work in-house, including landscaping and asphalt which will reduce the overall cost. While the current plan doesn’t include a dispatch center, the construction will include putting the infrastructure in the building which will allow for a possibility of a fully operational dispatch center in the future.
The council heard that when there is a possibility of winter precipitation, city street crews go on standby in case they are needed. Lebanon Public Works Director Richard Shockley says Mike Moore has the crews ready….
Lebanon City Street crews are on call throughout the winter months, ready to go to work clearing the snow off the streets, concentrating on the major arterials streets and fanning out from there.
