Sales tax revenue for Laclede County is up for the year by about $164-thousand-dollars for general revenue and County Development. Another increase was in the Law Enforcement Sales Tax which is up about $61-thousand. In just a few days, the County Commission will consider budget requests from various departments and offices, so we asked Sheriff David Millsap how having the increased revenue in place will impact his budget requests…

Millsap said they have one vehicle in operation that has about 280-thousand miles on it, and several patrol vehicles that have in the range of 160-thousand miles on them. Millsap said in the near future they will also have to start considering the replacement of consoles in the 911 center which will cost several hundred thousand dollars. In 2020 the Law Enforcement Sales tax has brought in over $944-thousand-200-dollars.
