Last day of school in Waynesville May 20th grades K-11. Seniors last day May 15th.
(Waynesville)–The last day of school for the 2019-20 School Year in the Waynesville School District will be Wednesday, May 20th, for students in grades kindergarten through 11. The last day for graduating seniors in the Class of 2020 will be May 15th.
Dr. Brian Henry, Waynesville Superintendent of Schools, says, “We are working to develop a process for families to return textbooks, materials, and Chromebooks, and will send this information to parents when the plan is complete.”
The district had previously announced that the last day of school would be May 29th. However, the state is allowing inclement weather hours to be waived for the 2019-20 School Year. Therefore, students will not be making up the snow days they missed earlier during the school year.
Teachers and paraprofessionals will continue to fulfill their contracted days by working through Friday, May 29th, as originally scheduled. If the stay at home order has been lifted by that time, teachers and paraprofessionals will return to work in their buildings.
