Lake of the Ozarks road closures starting this week

Bridge work along Highway 54 at the Grand Glaize Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks bridge is wrapping up and two roads over Highway 54 are scheduled to close this week.
The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Truesdell Corporation Midwest to complete the rehabilitation of several bridges in the Lake of the Ozarks area. The contractor continues to work on the westbound Grand Glaize Bridge passing lane and plans to complete the installation of the epoxy-wearing surface tonight. The westbound passing lane is closed until that work is complete. Following the completion of the Grand Glaize Bridge work, two bridges over Highway 54 will close overnight.
The currently planned schedule of closures includes the Case Road Bridge closing from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday…and the Nichols Road Bridge closes from 7 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday. During these bridge closures, motorists will need to use an alternate route. And of course, all work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change in the event of rainy weather. Highway 54 north toward Jefferson City, contractors began working with the Missouri Department of Transportation to add J-turns from east of Clark Fork Road to Penny Hollow Road in Cole County. The contractors will also add acceleration and deceleration lanes at United Road, Clark Fork Road, and westbound Penny Hollow Road. The project is expected to continue through the end of October. For the duration of the project, between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, crews will close one lane of Highway 54. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. In addition, as part of the improvements, the contractor will close to all traffic from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. this Saturday so crews can replace a culvert under the roadway. Drivers will need to use an alternate route during the closure.
