The Laclede Literacy Council has been helping students “learn differently” for many years now, and that may have just gotten easier. Executive Director Carol Barsby says the program has just been accepted into the Neighborhood Assistance Program, meaning larger tax breaks for their donors.

Barsby said some of the donations will go to recovering from the “Learning Loss” that was experienced by many students throughout the pandemic
