LACLEDE COUNTY SERIOUS

A crash occurred yesterday afternoon in Laclede County leaving a passenger seriously injured. At approximately 4:55 PM, 31-year-old Melody Spurgeon was headed westbound with 41-year-old Micky Spurgeon, both from Long Lane, on Highway 32, four miles West of Lebanon. Their 2004 Honda Accord traveled off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle struck an embankment and began overturning, ejecting the passenger. The vehicle continued through a fence before coming to a rest. Melody had minor injuries and will seek her own treatment, while Micky sustained serious injuries and was taken by Mercy Lifeline to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. The car was totaled, and neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.
