Laclede County Reports Reduction In Property Crimes in 2022

The Laclede County Sheriff’s Office reported a 20% decline in the number of reported burglaries in 2022,
compared to 2021. Sheriff deputies worked nearly 33% fewer stealing crimes in 2022 compared to 2021.
Laclede County Sheriff David Millsap said he was pleased with the reduction.

Millsap said even see there have been reductions, there is still much work to do:

The Laclede County Detention Center averaged about 120 inmates during the year. Over 1900 people
were booked into the jail during the year.
