Laclede County Murder suspect sentenced to Life in Prison

The man who was charged in the murder of Lebanon man has entered a guilty plea in Laclede County Court. 29-year-old Dustin Lee Combs was charged with the murder of Mark Pitts who was found shot to death in his home a year ago. Combs reportedly shot Pitts and then fled to Washington County in Pitts pickup. On Monday, Combs entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to life in prison without parole. He was also sentenced to 30 years each on 2 counts of first-degree assault after stabbing a fellow inmate at the Laclede County Jail.

At the time of his arrest, Combs was a suspect in a beating and stabbing of an Arkansas man which happened a few weeks before the murder of Mark Pitts.  He is also charged with Murder in the state of Texas.
