Laclede County Man Sentenced For Sex Crimes

A Laclede County man arrested last year on multiple child sex crime charges pleads guilty to all but one charge.

39-year-old Donald Haney, of Lebanon, pleaded guilty and was sentenced by Circuit Judge Aaron Koeppen, Monday to 12 years each for charges of first-degree child molestation and two counts of first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy with a victim less than 12.

He was sentenced to 7 years in prison for a charge of second-degree statutory sodomy and one year in the county jail for a charge of second-degree child molestation.

The investigation began in June of 2021 when the victim told her father about incidents in which Haney had allegedly touched her in an inappropriate manner. The child was interviewed by investigators with Kids Harbor and enough evidence was gathered to continue the investigation. The continued investigation led them to believe that a second child had been molested, and a third child was allegedly molested in 2009.
