The Annual Laclede County Hometown Heroes event was held virtually this morning, with an opening statement from Chairman Rob Black.

 

The videos contained in the Hometown Heroes virtual presentation allowed individuals to share the story of those honored as 2020 Hometown Heroes. Simon Westerfield, is a Veteran who has been impacted by Donna Mason, the Veterans Advocate Hometown Hero…

 

Donna Mason has served as a member of the Veterans Memorial Board for several years, helps care for Veterans Park in Lebanon, and has spent much of her life serving veterans.

Laura Angst Garten a foster parent started Fostering Hope Closet in Lebanon after facing challenges as a foster parent.

Garten said there are currently about 500 kids are in foster care in the 26th Circuit, and they want to be able to help increase awareness about Fostering Hope Closet and the services they offer. Fostering Hope Closet is the 2020 Friends of Foster Families Hometown Heroes.
